An explanation and a recommendation

This site has been built under the hosting services of
http://www.one.com
When I looked for a host and the tools to do the job, it was as a complete novice.
The tools provided by One.com do need to be learned, but they are so clear and user friendly, they proved the ideal way for someone with a lack of experience to build their first web site. I would recommend them to anyone.

However we knew we needed to embed a discussion forum so it was back to the drawing board, or rather back to the midnight oil as I trawled all the options and advice forums. It came down to the expensive but very best, vbulletin board, or back to the use of a php bulletin board. We used php previously with http://www.hometospirit.com but that was through the help of a family member in an already busy life. We had little control over the board and even less knowlege of php to control it. As a result an excellent discussion board there had to be culled when the spamsters and bots began strangling it.

As you will have seen here the decision was to return to php because there are sophisticated spam controls built into the latest version, and even more sophistocated modifications that can be embedded to make it as protected as possible. The phpBB3 cost nothing, and the vbulleting board would have cost a lot, and for us would have been overkill with its utilities.

I turned to a hosting company called http://www.tmdhosting.com to install the board and to carry out tricky modifications for extra spam protection and other administration feaures. For them, working on a site hosted by someone else presented extra difficulties. They speedily overcame them all.

However to anyone who wishes from scratch to go for a hosting service that is incredibly helpful, professional, and unswerving to overcome any problem or question, I cannot more highly reccommend http://www.tmdhosting.com as the service to go for. I take nothing away from what is offered by one.com, but for sure TMD are bound to go far because they are simply, very good people!

Blessings
Richard
